The North Atlantic treaty Organization History
The North Atlantic Treaty was signed by 12 countries on April 4, 1949, in Washington D.C. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is a military alliance and the countries that are in the North Atlantic treaty organization is the United States, Canada, and 14 other Western countries. In total there are 19 member states in all. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was formed in 1949. The North Atlantic treaty Organization was set up largely to discourage an attack by the Soviet Union on the non-communist nations of Western Europe. The reason why they formed the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was because each member country agreed to treat an attack on any other member as an attack on itself. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization has a civilian branch and a military branch.

The North Atlantic Treaty Purpose/Goals/Objective
The North Atlantic Treaty purpose is to guarantee the freedom and security of its members through political and military means. The goal of The North Atlantic Treaty was to free the world and each other. If a member of NATO was attacked then that meant you had attacked them all. The North Atlantic Treaty objective was to provide the foundation for stability in the Euro-Atlantic area. Its objective was also to defend its members against threats and aggression.

Structure/Hierarchy/Subdivisions of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
NATO is divided into three branches: Civilian, Military and Other General Offices. The civilians mainly control executive management, the public diplomacy, the NATO office of resources, NATO office of security, the operations division etc. The Military are in charge of the military committee, allied command transformation etc. The last group is in charge of logistics, standardisation, Airborne early warning, civil emergency planning etc.

The North Atlantic Treaty Advantages and Disadvantages
The advantages of the North Atlantic Treaty is that it would help provide security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area. It would defend against any threat to the territory of any NATO member state. It would also promote partnership. The disadvantages of joining the North Atlantic Treaty is that you won't be a neutral country. Once you are in the North Atlantic Treaty you have to help any country that is threatened by any other country.

Diversity
NATO has many policies to protect local diversity. They have to be unbiased toward ethnicity, religion, gender etc.
